Or with their search where they remove all the important stuff from the query and return the results that I was specifically trying to avoid with those important modifiers "there's not many results with x" - Yes! That's the point.Īll over the place they're just on some endless campaign to patronize the userbase. It lacks lots of words that I have to go and check manually because they've decided that someone using a nuanced word is only done in error I want to see the kind of nonsense that has assuaged so many people into effective insanity and apparently Google has decided that I'm not enough of an adult to view it. It's the general rush towards infantilism. The only advantage I have seen in results is Google has removed nonsense and conspiracy garbage from their results. But if you're after a general list of usable images, then DDG is better.ĭDG almost fails in the same way as goog. So if you're after something specific using image searching, Google is better. However DDG doesn't include Pinterest spam. G's image search is better - generally speaking. Image searching is a little more hit and miss though. I've found DDG's results to be comparable to Google's and in fact in the last ~3 years of exclusively using DDG, I can count on one hand the number of times I've tried searching for something in Google after a failed search in DDG. Or if you're search for a restaurant, add in your home town too. Like if you search for a coding problem, add your computer language name to the search query. But that doesn't mean that DDG's results can't be as good as G's, it just means you need to add that context yourself. ![]() The thing with people who switch to DDG is, they do so consciously for privacy reasons but then forget that the reason G's results are so good is because they add little bits of context in through their profiling. It's not just a front end to Bing, like many assume (though I can't find DDG's article on the subject to directly cite). ![]() DDG already includes Google (amongst others) in its results.

![]() We will now show that both forms of passionate adherence to the King James Bible are untenable. It is, they say, the most accurate, the most reverent and theologically sound, and the most outstanding for beauty and simplicity of language. They say that the KJV excels all the others by every measure we should use in evaluating translations. They regard the Masoretic Text of the Hebrew Old Testament and the Received Text of the Greek New Testament-the texts underlying the KJV (which we will call the KJV texts)-as the preserved Word of God. They say that almost all modern translations rely upon inferior texts. To justify placing the KJV on a high pedestal, they give two reasons. Those in the second group of KJV-only fundamentalists back away from claiming that the translation itself is inspired, but they nevertheless believe that the KJV is the best Bible available, and they strongly oppose its replacement with any modern translation. Whether or not they admit it, they evidently believe that God is partial to the English-speaking peoples. To my knowledge, they do not grant inspired status to any Bible in a foreign language. ![]() Rather, they believe that God inspired the translators of only one version, the KJV, and that other versions are reliable only to the extent that they follow the KJV. Those in the first have broadened the scope of divine inspiration to include even the process of translation-but not this process whenever it takes place. Proponents of the KJV fall into two fairly distinct groups. We will examine the KJV-only position in lessons 1 and 2 and the position favoring the critical text in lessons 3 and 4. As often happens when two extremes fire at each other, the only casualty has been truth in the middle. The skirmishes that have so far erupted have merely helped each side unite and energize its following. But neither side seems in danger of losing. They have identified each other as the evil empire. To suppress truth, he is creating two false extremes that are monopolizing the territory of debate, eliminating every choice besides themselves. It is evident that the devil is succeeding in the same ploy he has used many times in the past. The other side looks upon anyone who rejects the critical text as an enemy of learning. The KJV-only side is branding dissenters as heterodox or heretical. (What we mean by "the critical text" will be discussed later.) Both sides, especially the KJV-only side, are demanding that all who wish to remain in their good graces must submit to their point of view. On the other stand those who approve at least some of the many modern English translations based on the critical text of the New Testament. On one side stand partisans of the King James Version (KJV). ![]() One of the most contentious and divisive questions in fundamentalism today is, "Which is the right Bible?" The combatants have sorted themselves out into two main camps. ![]() There are also expert point totals for advanced players to achieve. ![]() The goal of a level is to earn a certain number of points. When customers lose all their hearts, they leave the restaurant, costing the player points. ![]() Flo can perform various actions, such as talking to customers or serving them drinks, to revive these hearts. Each type of customer has different degrees of patience and tipping habits. The longer the customer is forced to wait, the more hearts he or she loses. Each successful action earns the player points, performing the same action multiple times in a row earns the player a chain bonus, which is broken once a different action is performed. The dishes must be cleared by Flo before the next set of customers can use the table. When the customers are finished eating, they must be taken a check, at which point the customers leave a tip and their dishes on the table, departing the restaurant. As customers arrive in the restaurant, the player must drag and drop them onto a table, where they sit down and read menus. Flo can be moved around the restaurant to complete tasks. Gameplay centers around catering to customers to gather as much money as possible. As the game progresses Flo updates the dilapidated restaurant she begins with and builds three further restaurants, which provide new settings. After proving her worth, Flo went out in her own separate way and is ready to help another hard worker at the company establish his own diner, repeating the cycle.
